The boy laughed at the dilemma on their faces. This trick persisted for a few days more. However, one day, a real wolf did charge at the grazing sheep. The shepherd boy dashed for help, screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But click here this time, no one came.
Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his flock. Devastated, he went back to the village only to be met with a scolding on honesty and the consequences of crying wolf.
The story of this shepherd boy has been transmitted generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the importance of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the risks of false alarms.
